After breakfast, we leave Estancia La Rosita, located 10
km south Esquina. At noon, we rest in the middle of the
country in Paraguayan hammocks and we have an exquisite
lamb from Corrientes for lunch. After lunch, we get all
our stuff, saddle our horses and return to our adventure
towards Estancia La Amistad, located near our stop,
"Tranquera Cadenas". Here we will enjoy some massages,
an excellent meals and a deserved rest.
Day 5: CORRIENTES
Heading northwest we begin our day. Today we will be
enjoying a different landscape to what we saw yesterday,
visiting several estancias and bordering Pucu marsh.
Gently we leave our stop "Tranqueras Cadenas" to get to
the area of Malvina, an antique rural town from where
the largest volumes of black tobacco were exported. Due
to the great significance of this product it had its own
currency, the "SOL".
In the afternoon, we will get to Estancia Buena Vista,
where we will be having tea in a garden honoring its
name (Buena Vista, Good View).
Day 6: CORRIENTES
Parallel to Corrientes River, over a path used during
the Triple Alliance war, we enter "Malvina", a place of
Legends and stories very far away from big cities and
that is why many of its inhabitants speak only Guarani.
Today we will be having lunch in a real Pulpería,
visiting old chapels, the antique hospital and really
picturesque ranches typically of the region, until we
get to Estancia La Teresita. The main house and its very
antique adobe walls burned out some years ago, therefore
other parts of this beautiful antique estancia have been
recycled.
At night, in days of full moon, on horses or trucks, we
take a ride to the highest slope of the area, where the
landscape in the moonlight is incredibly outstanding.
Day 7: CORRIENTES
Today it's a great day! All kind of landscapes compacted
in a 2-hour horse ride. We are going to Corrientes River
and to get there we will go along pine forests, pampas,
lagoons, native tree forests and dunes over the river.
The end is almost perfect, a "ring race" (at a gallop,
with a stick you have to try to thread a small ring
hanging from a tree) where we all put our skills at
stake. Return to La Rosita by boat.
We are only missing the Awards and dinner with chamame
included. (Dinner in Esquina. Chamame is a regional
music).
